Pastor's Notes

My Dear Family of St. Ann!

“Glory to God in the highest heaven, and on earth peace to people of good will (Lk 2:14).” After more than 2,000 years, we can hear the echo of the song of the Angels rejoicing and singing while they were announcing the birth of our Savior Jesus. This melody has been in the world as a song of victory and hope. This Christmas, we are joining the celestial choir and becoming one with them, exultantly rejoicing, because today our Savior was born.

In each celebration of the Eucharist today, we will sing the same Glory, and our voices will be one with the angels in heaven, recognizing that the cause of our happiness is the Emmanuel – God is with us.

With the coming of the Messiah, God the Father wants to lift you to make you a participant in his Glory. This is the reason why Jesus assumes our humanity; our frail flesh is rescued by his incarnation: “He always had the nature of God, but he did not think that by force he should try to remain equal with God. Instead of this, of his own free will, he gave up all he had and took the nature of the servant. He became like a human being and appeared in human likeness (Phil 2: 6-7).”

This day is the happiest day of the year. Every action spontaneously is full of love, peace, and forgiveness. Families travel to be with loved ones, and people help others. Undoubtedly, generosity flourishes, and forgiveness is at hand. Something is in the atmosphere that transforms our lives completely. Something special happens even in those who do not know or accept Jesus as Messiah. The grace of God is upon us even though sometimes we don’t understand what is happening, and we can feel it in our hearts.

My friends, Jesus is the best, the most beautiful gift of Christmas!

Let us open our hearts to Jesus.

Merry Christmas!
